DESCRIPTION:There is a national movement to shut down historic Black instit
utions and ban books such as the 1619 Project which educate us about Black
people's foundational contributions and impact on our US History. Black i
nstitutions such as the Smithsonian's  National Museum of African Americ
an History and Culture (NMAAHC) are the keepers and repositories of our fe
llow Black American's contributions and lived experiences which are a part
of our history and democracy. \nWe are grateful to Indivisible Baltimo
re for organizing efforts so that we can challenge the actions that could
destroy our democracy and erase the rights\, culture and history of People
